This website is the first organized work of the Office of Tourism Association of Commerce and ICS Messolonghi, which was established in September 2015 and in which incumbent.
Our city is a mosaic of inconceivable beauty and history. It is an area ideal for visiting all year round. A place that will amaze you and fill you with beautiful pictures and unforgettable memories.
Capitalizing on the opportunity that gives us the use of technology, we have created this site with a focus on promotion and enhancement of our city, through the powerful world of Internet.

Sotiriou Winery, is a family business that began its journey in the wine world in 1996, producing and bottling traditional local varieties of white and red wine, such as Malagouzia, Avgoustolidi, Mavroudi etc. The winery is housed in modern facilities in Lesini village near Messolonghi.
The Folklore Museum of our city is a place that combines tradition and culture, which was completed thanks to the support of both donors and volunteers in order to save our tradition.
It constitutes a new landmark not only for our town, but for residents of the wider region as well. A multitude of exhibits and rare old objects await the visitor’s eyes to be admired. The latters are given the chance to get to know our tradition, the daily life of farmers, fishermen and other social and professional classes, who used to live in the old Messolonghi. Tools that were used for cultivating and fishing, for food preparation and serving, old uniforms, such as the costume of Kitsos Tsavellas, clothes, a loom, photographs and furnitures, old radios, typewriters, sewing machines and many other things compose a scenery of another era, that make the visitors travel back in time.

- GARDEN HEROES
The Garden of Heroes is the only regional sculpture of Greece, the only historical park. Provides information on the morphology of the area and details of the tomb containing the bones of the fallen, the monument of Marcus Botsari, the statue of Lord Byron (Byron) and seventy one chieftains monuments philhellenes fighters and heroes. Η τσικνοπέμπτη στο Μεσολόγγι αποτελεί ημέρα γιορτής, παράδοσης και γλεντιού.
Το έθιμο της ημέρας τηρείται στο έπακρο, αφού από νωρίς το μεσημέρι, στις γειτονιές και τους δρόμους της πόλης στήνονται υπαίθριες ψησταριές, που προσκαλούν τους περαστικούς για κέρασμα.
Η καλή παρέα, οι μεζέδες, το άφθονο κρασί, η μουσική και ο χορός έχουν την τιμητική τους, ενώ αποτελούν τα συστατικά, που συμβάλουν στο να κορυφωθεί για τα καλά το γλέντι στο κέντρο της πόλης, το οποίο βεβαίως συνεχίζεται μέχρι αργά το βράδυ.
The Carnival of Messolonghi is an institution that counts 32 years now.
The official events of the carnival begin in February with a plethora of carnival events such as carnival dances, costume parties and the hunting of the hidden treasure.
The city continues to live in the carnival rhythms until the last weekend of Carnival, with the night parade of the crews on Saturday and the great parade on Sunday.
The parade takes place all along the Street of the Free Besieged, which is flooded with young and old people who dance to the carnival music.
The celebration continues on the main square of Messolonhgi, where all groups give dance shows, until the burning of King Carnival and the throwing of the fireworks.
Since 2009 one of the biggest sporting events in the country, the National Championship Canoe-Kayak takes place in the lagoon of Messolonghi.
Sporting clubs from all over Greece come to our city to participate in this major sporting event. The lagoon is then filled with dozens of boats and young athletes who give their best, paddling in the unique wetland of the Messolonghi lagoon. It is a high sport level organization that both locals and residents from the wider region come to watch.
Born in 1954 in Missolonghi, the distinguished artist and engraver Apostolos Cousteau studied alongside George Sicily painter and engraver Vaso Katraki. After urging the latter entirely devoted to the art of engraving, and his work has been featured in many exhibitions in Greece and abroad.
Coming in Missolonghi not miss the chance to visit the workshop and to admire the works of renowned artist.
