Neochori, with less than 4,000 inhabitants, is a town located in the southwest part of the prefecture of Etoloakarnania and belongs to the municipality of the Sacred City of Messolonghi. Built on the banks of Acheloos river, Neochori is about 20km away from Messolongi. Neochori is surrounded by a lush natural landscape and thus knows great agricultural and livestock development.
Seventeen kilometers southwest of Neochori, you will find the protected by the RAMSAR Convention, Louros beach. Louros is the largest beach in Greece and one of the best in the prefecture of Etoloakarnania.
Evinos or Fidaris,crosses a 92 km long route, starting from Vardousia to end at the Gulf of Patras, between Evinochori and Kryoneri. According to Greek mythology the river took its name from King Evinos who was drowned in its waters.
Evinos River is an ideal sport for sporting activities such as canoe kayak and rafting. Moreover, it is considered to be an ecosystem of great environmental value, since a great amount of fish and amphibians live in its waters, and also given its lush riverside vegetation.
