When coming to Etoliko, the visitor has the opportunity to wander through the picturesque cobbled alleys, admire the old mansion buildings, taste the gastronomic treasures of the region, which consist mainly of fresh fish, and visit the Vasso Katraki Museum-Center for Engraving Art.
The main sights of the city are its two historical churches, the church of the Koimisi tis Theotokou and the church of Panagia Pazaritissa, which is the metropolitan church of the municipality. In fact the first one, located in the city center, is where the first national assemblies of the Rumeli representatives took place and where the trial of Karaiskakis was held back in April 1st, 1824. Among other Holy Relics that are being kept within the church are the miraculous icon of the Virgin, the Epitaph and the wood-carved iconostasis of the Virgin.
The church of the Taxiarches is also famed for its marvelous 18th century wood- carved temple. The courtyard of this church houses the remains of a famous woman: the grave of Kyra Vassiliki, the great love of the famous Ali Pasha of Ioannina.
