The Sacrifice Road Race is a race held annually, the day before Easter, to honor the fighters of Messolongi, in which the runners actually take the reverse route, followed by the Free Besieged.
Athletes from across the country take part each year in this race which begins from the monastery of Ai Symios. The finish line is in the Garden of Heroes, and the total distance being covered is 9,800 meters.
In April 1946, on the initiative of a gymnastics trainer from Palamaiki School, Giorgos Polichronopoulos, the first race took place. The organization of this race is always held by the Gymnastic Association "Charilaos Trikoupis".
The Fish Festival in Etoliko is held annually on the last Saturday of September (usually on September 28th to 30th) and is regarded as a major highlight of the treasure of the Lagoon of Messolonghi- Etoliko.
The celebration of the feast spreads throughout the island of Etoliko, where tables and chairs for the visitors have been placed by the locals, from early on. At least in three places throughout the city, grills and benches- which host the unpaid work of the organizers- have been put in order for the locals to bake fish, the specialty of the local cuisine. Visitors are then treated with fresh baked fish, accompanied by salad, olives of the region, bread and wine.
Of course, traditional dances are an integral part of the celebration of the feast. That way, the visitors can have fun and enjoy some free delicious fish dishes along with folklore dances from the locals.

Meet the Sailing
The Nautical Club in furtherance effort watersport particularly Sailing Offshore operates Sailing School M / F for adults and organizes 5 hours daily sailing cruises in the Gulf of Patras. The cruises are made with new yachts. Starting from Messolonghi harbor. There is the possibility of providing lunch on board upon request.
Minimum number of people, 8 (eight). Optionally suggest you have your camera, binoculars, hat, sunscreen and essential good mood.
The tours may be altered reason weather. Minors must be accompanied.
